Rapper slim 400 fatally gunned down at age 34 in Inglewood. The shooting occurred on the 8600 block of 7th Avenue at around 7:50 p.m., authorities said Thursday morning (June 14). Rapper Slim 400 — also known as Vincent Cohran— was found near death when officers patrolling heard gunfire and arrived to his aid; he died there shortly afterward despite efforts by trauma surgeons who were eventually able reduce bleeding caused by multiple wounds but could do nothing else because life support systems had failed.

TMZ first reported that Slim 400 was 33 at the time of his death, but police later said he was 34, according to NBC News. Born in Germany and raised in Compton, the emcee was known for songs such as “Goapele,” featuring YG, and “Piru,” featuring YG and Redrum 187.

Hours before the shooting, Slim 400 dropped a music video for his track “Caviar Gold,” a love letter to cannabis, which he promoted to his 247,000 followers on Instagram.
